Sodwana Bay - Kwazulu / Natal

  • on: March 21, 2018, 05:57 PM
So, my wife and I spent a few days @ Sodwana Bay in Kwazulu/Natal, off the East Coast of South Africa, last week... I'd taken my Teknetics G2 with for some beach hunting and my newly acquired Deteknix X-Pointer Scuba Detector (which my wife bought me by surprise ;D) for some sea searching.

The first few days the wind howled, making the sea murky and visibility real poor, leaving us only really able to beach hunt, however, on the last day I was able to put an hour or so in water...  ;D

Here's a few photo's our of finds and further down, my water finds...  ;D

Some really old pull tabs I did not mind digging...  :)

The usual 'mash-up' of coins...  ;D

A rather unusual old bottle-cap, considering it says 'EMPANGENI', that's just outside Richards Bay... strange  :o

The usual suspects...  >:(

I'm considering opening up a Scrap Metal business...  ;D

Tetanus anyone?  :o

I have absolutely no idea?  ???

...and here's a few rather unique/special finds...  8) Well, not all...  ;)

I think it says 'FREEDOM'

My first nail clipper...  :o

My second pocket knife, although this one is nice and can possibly be restored...  ;D

Considering I cast all my own sinkers for fishing, this was a great find!!!  ;D

Champagne bottle cork securers

A fishing rod eye holder

Of course, then came the time to un-pack my Deteknix X-Pointer - Scuba Detector... What an excellent little under water metal detector, easy and very simple to use, yet very powerful!!!  ;D

For the time I was in water, I'm very happy with my finds...  ;D

How's that for some seriously old lead...  :o

The most minute brass bead...  :o

And then of course my favourite finds for the day...  8)

I'll post pics later of the coins and knife cleaned!!!  8)
