Hi Dudes & Dudettes
Well..well..well...where to begin...
(NB - observations are based on
only the 1st hour on a heavy trash (bierproppie) beach, die ouens is dors hier rond)
1 - Beaches in Namibia "is nie vir sissies nie" meaning I had to dial-down the sensitivity on the beach mode 2 factory preset of 20 all the way to 16...at 20 it sounds like snap crackle 'n pop....
2 - Yes, this unit is FAST and as deep as my Seahunter MK2 in the dry beach
3- Yes -this unit will ID good targets over/under/above/next to junk....
just have to listen, good tones sound through bad ones
4 - Yes - this unit can run on black/purple wet sand if you take the sensitivity down to 16'ish
5 - Bierproppies come in at anything between 13 - 18, air test shows gold rings to be in the same bracket
BUT I am going to check tomorrow in loco as I am sure that rings will give better/fuller tones as well as more stable ID's, proppies seem to jump more than solids) ala Xterra style..
6 - Lastly - Regardless whether you swing a 3030 or the 800, Ace 400i or Luke's light sabre...the old cliche will remain valid...it ultimately boils down to the operator holding it, any unit is only as good as how well the person who's operating it knows and understands his machine!
Good weekend to y'all..
