Waterval Onder Finds
« on: May 07, 2018, 06:12 PM »
Spent some time in the Waterval Onder area and found the following:

The two pieces on the left I think may be pieces of meteorite, otherwise its nearly pure natural iron ore. How can I find out?

On the right is a slightly magnetic piece which I found in an old gold mine, what makes it significant is that it was the only piece of this nature I could find in the mine. What is it?

Left is some tool tip found near the mine, and what looks like a small spearhead, possibly unrelated to the mine. Right is a big chisel found near the old mine.

These are two pieces of what was most likely some iron vessel used in the mine.

Some random items not from the mine. Nice really old nail there.

Also not mine related. Top is lead, looks like a slug from a rifle. Bottom random bolt, probably not all that old.

Nice going. I see you are digging all the iron.
